At stretch inc. we have mostly good days. We get to stretch people in two amazing studios in one of the greatest cities in the world. But some days are harder than others. Some roadblocks don’t just block the way; they temporarily block my vision. On those days, I remember the woman who persisted so that I could have the privilege of being the founder of stretch inc. Women with harder barriers, tougher battles, and more to lose. Women like Corretta Scott King, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Vice President Kamala Harris, whose perseverance changed the world. But also women like my mom and my dear friend Frances. Women who pushed through hardship and personal pain or loss and always made a safe space for their daughters no matter the sacrifice. These women, our sisters, and moms and aunts and grandmothers and friends, their strength and persistence aren’t often applauded. It should be.

my mom, my sister, me

Thank you to all the women in my life and at stretch inc. who pave the way, hold each other up, shatter glass ceilings and make the world a better and more equitable place. Thank you for setting the example, for persisting.

Me, Frances, Sion, Emilie and Ursula
